So... It's been a bit... again
I've recently released another proper blog post, check if out if you'd like!
thank you drmollytov for helping me with this blog with the suggestion you gave me earlier this year, I really appriciate the help, even still!

this blog post has been a long time coming for me, and I'm glad I'm able to post it before the year ends. I hope its a cohesive enough read, it was kind of a brain dump lol.
I've fallen into a rabbit-hole lately of non-DRM books and games lately. I saw a really cool video about someone backing their pc games to a physical medium by putting setup.exe files into them! Right after i collected my blown mind off the floor (since i honestly didnt know that was possible) i then realised that this was something i REALLY wanted to do.

I work at an Op Shop (what you americans call 'thrift stores') and so I've been pretty fortunate to be able to collect a BUNCH of blank CDs and DVDs over the past few months. I plan to buy games from gog and itch.io (both stores that sell non DRM games) and place all of them onto physical mediums. Some of the disks I have are directly printable, so i obviously plan having stuff printed onto them for this project too!

I also really want to use full size SD cards for this too! for games that i can fully run & save off of. Most of these games will likely be smaller games from itch.io that don't require a setup.exe to install. The first game im planning on doing this on is a fantastic game called 'grimm's hollow' on itch.io.

after I buy some games from GOG I'll probably then begin putting the installers (and maybe even an autorun script) onto some disks too!

once I make some progress on this project I'll share the results here! (and probably on melonland too lmao). It'll honestly be nice being able to have a physical copy of the games I bought, the peace of mind from knowing they're a physical tangible thing (and the ability to show them off) will make the effort so worth it!
I just got back from my first day of volunteering at the library, I was way too nervous for it and it obviously didnt end up being very scary. One of the career paths im considering right now is becoming a library worker, so this some pretty good experince for me to decide if that's what i want to do for sure.

there's also been this cat visiting our house lately, he lives at a house 2 blocks away from our house and he's over pretty often lmao, his name is matt heres a pic of him

silly cat
holy fuck its late bruh i need to sleep i can figure out where to put the rss button tmr lmao
Hello! welcome to my microblogs page! this is where I'm going to be posting short little more low-key things instead of my big boy blogs. You probably know what microblogs are, but if you don't, think Bluesky, status cafe, nikki.top, twitter (ew) and other stuff like that. I have an RSS feed for my microblogs too (i just need to find a good place for the button lmao)

Some of you might have also noticed that this site has been seriously inactive for a while as well, I have a whole bunch of reasons and things to say about it which I will detail in the blog post im going to post at some point soon, but for now I'm going to definitively say that im back on the indieweb again, and that I'll be much more active on this site and other Indieweb spaces much more often going forward! I love the indieweb and everything it means and represents, so I'm not intending on ever leaving!

thanks for reading this all, I promise my next microblogs will (probably) be much shorter than this lmao.
